The artist behind the canvas

My creative journey had very humble beginnings in 2019 of painting simple strokes and adding very minimal abstract elements on paper that were inspired by my gentle walks in nature. I paid a lot of attention to the dignified details in nature. This gave me so much relief and a purposeful creative outlet to look forward to everyday as I was healing from my mental illness.

I am always so blown away by the beauty of Cynthia’s art.

When I first found her on Instagram, I was in awe. She has the abstract eye that I’ve always dreamed of having in my home and collection. I purchased two pieces from her before getting my custom art piece. Every step of the process was so easy, and Cynthia was so helpful; the added mockup was a beautiful touch. I’m so pleased with my custom art, from the texture to the colour story; it perfectly fits ‘me.’ The custom piece was originally for my showroom, which Cynthia was one of the lucky individuals who got to visit before I parted ways with it. Whenever I see the piece she created for me, I can’t help but think of my accomplishments with my showroom; it’s a little piece of that time of my journey in my home.

I’m an entertainer and working my way to the top has been hard; Cynthia’s consistency with communication and design takes all of that pressure away. Cynthia’s work is unlike anything I’ve ever owned. Her art speaks to me; the movement, the tones, the mediums she uses. They all tell the story of who she is, & it’s incredibly beautiful. Last year, we worked together to create something for my own small business, NEW YORK & NARRATIVE, & the pieces (a set of hand-painted place cards) were a huge hit amongst my clients. They were mirrored after another Cynthia Juhailey original art piece I treasure (which I have hung up on my studio wall).
